The purposes of this Christian-inspired Institution are: academic excellence, promotion of research, preservation of culture and the extension of these benefits throughout the community.
UDEM will promote the attitudes and will teach the knowledge required to shape and train individuals to practice their professions, seeking their integral formation. It will also provide specific training along with social sensibility and a transcendent sense of life.
Aware of the talent, experience and seniority of each of its members, UDEM will look forward, both in its relations and in its structure, to becoming a university community where the supporting involvement of all its members becomes a reality.
UDEM will only reach its fullness by serving the human being; therefore, it is focused on authentic community service in all its attitudes and activities.
Preservation of Culture
In its fundamental principles, UDEM describes the humanism inspired from the Catholic Church: a culture focused on each and everyone's humanization; openness to all creeds and conditions, rejection of all forms of privilege or discrimination, and the certainty that transcendence is achieved by serving others.
"The human being is the source, center and purpose of culture, understanding the latter as a humanization process".
At Universidad de Monterrey, we consider that humans are free and transcendent beings, makers of their own history.
"The University is open to the human being and to culture".
We live this openness in a harmonic manner, respecting everyone and rejecting any form of privilege or discrimination.
"The human being will only achieve self-fulfillment by serving other human beings".
We realize that our purpose will only be fulfilled by forming individuals with an attitude of authentic service to the community.
