Leadership Training

Do you want to develop your skills as a leader? UDEM offers you co-curricular courses and a Leadership Honors Program called “Líderes Plus”. Come and discover your leadership skills, live multicultural experiences and develop your potential to its fullest for professional life.

Through co-curricular courses, UDEM’s Student Leadership Center, the CELES, promotes the development of eight essential leadership competencies: emotional intelligence, communication, interpersonal relations, teamwork, problem solving, planning and organization, reaching consensus, and team management.

One of its core programs is BASE, a high-level leadership program in which students identify and assess their strengths and areas of opportunity as leaders. They also learn and apply essential techniques in order to integrate new knowledge into their personal and professional environments. As part of this co-curricular course, students experience an “Extreme Saturday”, an experiential education program which takes place at the “¡Lánzate!  Center for Leadership and Challenge. This program places special emphasis on teamwork, communication, and interpersonal relationships as competencies.

Another core program is “Líderes Plus”, our Leadership Honors Program in which students who excel both in the academic and formative areas participate. This one-year program promotes the development of skills through workshops, work liaising experiences, adventure leadership experiences, and the formation of a learning community. The central focus of this program is to encourage our young students to become social enterprisers who can have a positive influence on their environment.

Our students’ whole-person education is enriched through multicultural leadership experiences in which they have an opportunity to travel, get to know other cultures, and establish links with leaders in different countries through programs that the CELES implements with internationally renowned institutions such as the University of California in Berkeley, the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and the Leadership ExChange Institute.

In collaboration with the Leadership ExChange Institute, CELES runs the Woman as Change Agents Program and the Global Leadership Program, both in Panama City, Panama. UDEM students and students from different countries participate in these programs, working on the development of leadership competencies and social entrepreneurship in an intercultural environment.
