Co-Curricular Classes

Find out about the different sports classes that we offer.

The University Community Department offers the following co-curricular classes as options to contribute to your holistic education. The classes are offered under the Leadership model, through the Physical Education and Health Office.

​A description of the co-curricular classes at Preparatory School level:

Class ​Description Class Description
Physical training and weights  
This class covers different weight training topics to perform each exercise with correct form and technique. You will learn to plan different exercise routines or circuits, putting emphasis on learning progressive training and
Chess    ​ Students will learn, understand, and develop opening and attacking techniques.  They will master strategies learned in class in order to perfect their game.   ​
Football Flag Learn the technical and practical foundations of football flag, as well as the physical-technical abilities required to play this sport.

Nutrition to be in shape (virtual class) Learn the basic principles of nutrition in order to make it easier to adopt healthy eating habits.   ​
Co-ed basketball This class includes work on basketball as a discipline and its different techniques and tactics, as well as topics on values, a healthy lifestyle, motor skills, and physical and mental well-being. 
Pilates Pilates helps you to develop muscle tone, flexibility, endurance, and elasticity.  It also helps you to correct your posture and you can learn breathing and relaxation techniques.
Co-ed softball This class includes work on softball as a discipline and its different techniques and tactics, as well as topics on values, a healthy lifestyle, motor skills, and physical and mental well-being.
Volleyball This class includes work on volleyball as a discipline and its different techniques and tactics, as well as topics on values, a healthy lifestyle, motor skills, and physical and mental well-being.
Indoor Soccer Learn the basic concepts of indoor soccer, as well as the physical and technical skills involved in this sport.
Yoga​ Yoga will help you develop self-knowledge through psycho-physical exercise so that you can identify the expression of your emotions and feelings and how they manifest in the form of certain muscle states such as rigidity or stiffness. You will become familiar with the stress release techniques promoted by yoga.
 Soccer ​Learn the basic concepts of soccer, as well as the physical and technical skills involved in this sport.

The art of eating properly (virtual class)  
Develop methodological skills to design and plan your own menus.   
Pilates    ​ ​ Develop your muscle tone, flexibility, endurance, and elasticity.  Also, correct your posture and learn breathing and relaxation techniques.
Medical Brigade  
Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to apply teamwork to accident prevention, planning, and emergency control.   
First Aid   ​ Apply emergency action principles correctly in case of an accident or sudden disease.  Set pre-hospital care priorities toward essential on-the-spot stabilization that is appropriate and effective.  
Indoor Soccer   
Learn the basic concepts of indoor soccer, as well as the physical and technical skills involved in this sport. 

Tai Chi​
Students will learn and understand Tai Chi techniques and they will master the exercises learned in class to enhance their overall mental and physical health.
Soccer  
Learn the basic concepts of soccer, as well as the physical and technical skills involved in this sport.  
​ A healthy sexuality (virtual class) Understand the concept of sexuality to develop an interest in living your sexuality in a healthy way, based on an appropriate analysis and reflection and on the making of decisions which are conducive to the achievement of happiness. 
Swimming  
Learn the technical bases of the different swimming styles. Lifesaving   ​ ​Learn and apply emergency action principles correctly in case of an accident or sudden disease.  Set pre-hospital care priorities toward essential on-the-spot stabilization that is appropriate and effective.
