Service Learning

UDEM’s Pedagogical Model is an institutional strategy that offers students the opportunity to develop a culture of academic excellence. The model incorporates Service Learning as one of its teaching strategies, in addition to case studies, debates, and simulations, among others.
Even though Service Learning is one of the most complex strategies to apply, it is also a strategy which promotes significant learning by connecting the academic area with whole-person education, thus fulfilling two of the strategies of the 2020 vision:
  • A culture of academic excellence
  • Whole-person education for service
For the Universidad de Monterey, Service – Learning is a pedagogical proposal which is conducive to the improvement of educational quality, placing emphasis on offering citizens education based on participatory practices and supportive contributions to local development.

The Service – Learning projects allow students to apply knowledge acquired in the classrooms to specific needs of their community.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with the service learning projects carried out in 2012.
