The Bachelor of Fine Arts is a unique program offered by the UDEM. Our professors are advisors of national collections, artists whose works have been displayed in the most important galleries, and authors of cutting edge books and study materials. We utilize the best equipment and have the necessary spaces to develop the profession to its top potential. We also host, the Xavier Moyssén Collection with its bibliography specialized in Mexican art, and an agreement with the professional workshop of Jorge Elizondo.

Starting in 2012, the most brilliant, progressive, and creative art students will have the opportunity of training in the new Roberto Garza Sada Center (CRGS), a space devoted to creative ideas and artistic expression, which will gather and develop the best creative talent in Latin America.

Objective

To shape professionals able to understand, analyze, interpret, manipulate, produce, and process images, in both traditional and digital media, in order to influence the field of art. Our graduates are trained present innovative proposals that contribute to the cultural growth of society within the global framework.

Graduation Profile

Upon completion of their undergraduate degree, the students will have the following knowledge, skills, and attitudes:

  • The different stages and styles of art production. 
  • The major artists and trends developed throughout the history of art. 
  • The theory and criteria to assess an artistic work. 
  • The traditional and digital media of art production. 
  • The concepts and terms to prepare an artistic proposal.

  • Professional studies, these are the specialized, professional courses that make each degree plan unique.
  • General studies, these are the courses that provide a general and interdisciplinary overview.

Bachelors of Graphic Design (LDG) are prepared to work in various business areas, such as design, image, promotion, advertising, product development, marketing, communication, digital media, Web sites management, and other areas involving ideas, messages, and communication processes.

In an independent manner, our graduates can create their own design studios to focus on the areas of image and brand name development, advertising, promotion, digital design, photographic design, multimedia design and development, Web design and development, color consultancy, and visual communication strategies.

Campaña gráfica para inducir a los padres de familia el fomento a la lectura de sus hijos
Creación de una propuesta para lograr que los padres de familia reconozcan la importancia del fomento a la lectura en los niños, así como sus mejores prácticas, utilizando herramientas básicas del diseño gráfico, apoyado de la investigación de otras disciplinas.
