Frequently Asked Questions

If you need more information regarding financial aid, please don't hesitate in contacting us.

1. What are UDEM's policies regarding Undergraduate financial aid?
UDEM grants financial aid based on proven financial needs.

In case of financial aid due to economic need, UDEM's objective is to cover each applicant's specific need, offering financial aid that combines an UDEM Scholarship and a Santander Bank Education Credit.

2. How can I apply for financial aid?
You must submit the financial aid application and the documents required with it.
We understand that filling out the application and gathering the required documents may take time and effort, but having this information helps us in making a fair distribution of the financial aid resources

3. How does UDEM establish the type and amount of the financial aid awarded?
We perform a detailed analysis of the student and his/her family's financial information and then we apply a formula to find out their capacity to contribute to the cost of school fees.

It is highly advisable that the applicant and his/her parents/guardians attach a letter explaining whether they have unusual financial circumstances that they would like us to consider when preparing the analysis.

4. In cases of financial hardships, how is the help granted by UDEM?
The financial aid which is granted based on financial hardships may consist of a bank loan, like the Santander Bank Education Credit or UDEM Scholarship, which requires reciprocity from the beneficiary by performing scholarship service in activities related with the university work.

Financial aid may be a combination of a Santander Bank Education Credit and an UDEM Scholarship or either of them.

5. What is an UDEM Scholarship?
It is the type of financial aid in which the students do scholarship work. The requirements are to have a minimum 85 average and obtain 1,100 points in the admission exam.

6. What is the Santander Bank Education Credit?
It is a loan granted by Santander Bank for students having a 50% progress in their academic program.

The requirements are to have a minimum 80 average, to be backed up by a guarantor (more than 18 and less than 60 years old) with a good credit record with the Credit Bureau and having a verifiable income.

7. Will I have the same amount of financial aid throughout the time I study up until I complete my studies?
We will periodically review and update the information contained in your file.

However, if there are no significant changes in your financial situation and/or that of your family, the financial aid originally granted will remain the same until you complete your studies.

8. When will I be notified about the outcome of my financial aid application?
You must check UDEM's Official Calendar where the dates for financial aid results are established.
