Studying the Specialty in Family Business Management enables you to gain a global vision by understanding and mastering strategies that align family and business activities. This is achieved by acquiring the knowledge and skills, founded in sound values and ethics, to diagnose, analyze, and make decisions that positively transform organizations.
Our Graduate Program is unique in its kind throughout Latin America because its international faculty provides the students with business management knowledge within a global context. It is taught in collaboration with the UDEM's Family Business Center, which performs research, training and consultancy.
Objective
Allows the student to broaden his vision of the global business environment by understanding and mastering the strategies that align family and business activities. We help or students acquire the knowledge and skills to diagnose, analyze and make decisions that positively transform organizations by augmenting their competitively without comprising their values and ethical stance.

Transformational Leadership
Objective: Understand the concept of transformational leadership in family businesses, applied to actual professional and personal situations in life.
Family Business Legal Framework
Objective: Recognize basic legal tools to successfully face the family business succession process and harmoniously accomplish the transfer of property to the next generations. Understand the importance of the governing bodies and their legal implications.
Family Business Strategic Planning
Objective: Design the family business strategic plan to assure its long-term permanence, applying updated analytical tools and management models.
Family Business Management and Governance
Objective: Understand and develop the skills to manage and govern a family business, analyze its evolution and development, apply tools and models in order to achieve a balance between property, governance, management and family.
Change and Innovation Management
Objective: Understand the theory of change and apply models to intervene in organizational changes at a personal, group and organizational level, developing skills to handle resistance and barriers emerging in these processes.
The courses in this program are offered in a modular system. They are held between 9:00 and 18:00 hours.

The UDEM's demanding admission criteria assure academic excellence in its graduate groups.
The following requirements must be fulfilled to enroll in the Specialty in Family Business Management: - Hold a corresponding Undergraduate Degree
- Have at least two years professional experience or be an honors graduate
- Attend an interview with the Business Master's Degree Programs Director
- Submit your résumé and a cover letter explaining the reasons why you wish to enroll in the Master's Degree program
- Submit an Application for Admission to the Graduate Program along with the required documentation

Establishing projects that connect the academic world to productive and social organizations is a fundamental objective of the UDEM. To meet this goal, we have been signed research or applied innovation agreements with renowned national and international institutions.
The Business Graduate Programs and the Family Business Center work together to attract foreign professors specialized in this field.
The students research and solve actual family business case studies drawn from real situations in the companies where the students work in order to learn how to facilitate problem-solving between family and business.
