The Commercial Law Master's Degree Program provides the theoretical-practical education needed to manage the legal affairs of a company. The graduates from this program solve managerial level legal problems in areas fields such as finances, foreign trade, banking, labor and fiscal law, among others.

The Graduates from the Commercial Law Master's Degree Program:

  • Perform management activities with an in-depth knowledge and expertise in commercial law for corporate partnerships. 
  • Properly analyze, assess, and respond to the legal statutes that affect a company and/or its domestic and international business relations.
  • Skillfully apply legal and extra-juridicallegal knowledge in the corporate decision making process.
  • Apply creative, multidisciplinary, and practical thinking in strategic corporate areas of the commercial and business fields.

The Commercial Law Master's Degree Program is taught in alliance with Baker & McKenzie, the largest multinational law firm in the world. They apply their specialization, experience, and knowledge to seminars and executive training in the areas of law to help carry the UDEM to the highest levels.

Specifically, renowned experts from the international law firm Baker & McKenzie and professors with vast domestic and international experience participate in this program. They provide practical solutions to legal problems, guarantee the continual updating of contents, and offer the best possible practical education in corporate law.

English Juridical Terminology
Analyze the main North American law institutions by studying practical cases from the legal system, rights, liberties, competition, and judicial procedures of in the United States

Seminar on Commercial Partnerships
Analyze the fundamental principles and rules of the Mexican positive law governing commercial partnerships. Develop skills for the application of commercial law to solve specific problems. Understand the Best Corporate Practices and the general aspects of securities law in our country. 

Seminar on Credit Titles
Study the main credit titles recognized by the Mexican legislation. Analyze the legal concepts: corporate shares, founders¿ coupons and bonds, debt securities, certificate of deposit, pledge bond, maritime shipment, certificates of participation. 

Seminar on Credit Transactions
Analyze the main credit transactions under the Mexican juridicallegal framework and facilitate their application in commercial partnerships.

Seminar on Banking, Insurance and Finances Law
Analyze the Mexican financial system by providing tools intended to support decision-making. Analyze strategies for international financing and projects. Teach relevant topics on insurance, financial and debt-restructuring matters. 

Elective Seminar I
Analyze the legal labor regime in Mexico regarding labor compensation, international labor relations, and collective bargaining agreements. Study the context of the legal framework as it applies to the infrastructures of real estate and commercial partnership.

Elective Seminar II
Understand issues related to foreign trade, transfer pricing, unfair competition, international fiscal planning and fiscal litigation. Gain insight on the international treaties in which Mexico takes part.

Elective Seminar III
Analyze the legal framework of the main international topics of commercial partnerships; protection of industrial and intellectual property in Mexico and environmental issues.

The Juridical Professions
Analyze juridicallegal activities in which an administrator can get involved. Know how to interpret and prevent any illicit conduct and the current corporate rules of ethics. Analyze the civil, penal and administrative responsibilities of commercial partnership managers.

Seminar on JuridicalLegal Research
Provide methodological tools to solve situations related to the legal setting of a commercial partnership, in order to make proposals, on particular levels, on research and on how to plan a dissertation.

The following requirements must be fulfilled in order to enroll in the Commercial Law Master's Degree Program:

  • Hold the corresponding Undergraduate Degree level.
  • Have at least two years of job experience or be an honors graduate.
  • Attend an interview with the Law Master's Degrees Program's Director, submit your résumé and a cover letter to enroll in the Master's Degree program.
  • Submit the Admission Application for the Graduate Program along with the required documentation.

  • Pass the Graduate Studies Admission Test ¿ [Prueba de Admisión para Estudios de Posgrado (PAEP)] and take an English diagnostic exam.
