Steps For Enrollment

Our admission criteria are set at the highest international standards. Consult the requirements for enrolment at the UDEM.

To enroll in the Prepa UDEM, please follow these steps:

Step 1. Submit your paperwork

Please deliver the following required documentation to the Student Information and Attention Center (CIAA):

  • Your completed application for admission
    [Application in PDF format: application for admission
  • 4 black and white ID card size photographs 
  • A copy of your birth certificate 
  • A copy of your CURP [Population Registry Unique Code] 
  • A copy of the voter's identification card of the person in charge of paying the tuition and fees 
  • A copy of your final grades from 1st and 2nd years of secondary education (SE format) 
  • A copy of your current grades from  the 3rd year of secondary education 

*You must present original copies of the following documents when you make your definitive enrollment.

  • The original or legal copies of your secondary school grades 
  • Your original birth certificate 

*Students with grade point averages below 7.2 will not be accepted. 

*Students coming from open format programs will not be accepted. 

*If you are a foreigner, you must deliver a copy of your Immigration Form (FM3).

Step 2. Take the Entrance Test

Please reserve a date to take the entrance exam and attend the preparation courses.

You must score at least 900 points on the entrance exam. If you take the entrance exam at another institution, a minimum score of 1000 is required.

If your grade point average is 9.0 or higher and your secondary school is accredited by UDEM you will be allowed direct entry; however, even though your score will not be a condition for your enrollment, you still must take the entrance exam). See the accredited secondary schools [PDF].

To take the entrance exam and to attend the exam preparation courses, please call Student Information and Attention Center (CIAA) at (81) 8215-1010 or call our Toll-free line in Mexico 01 800-801-UDEM ext. 1010 to reserve your place on the day that is most convenient for you.

You have two opportunities to pass the AAT. If you do not pass it on the first try, you must wait at least one month before taking it again.

Step 3. Take the English Test

You will be required to take the TOEFL Exam for placement purposes. You will be placed according to the following guide:

  • 449 points or less: you must enroll in the Bilingual Preparatory School Program. 
  • 450-499 points: you may enroll either in the Bilingual Preparatory School Program in Advanced English, or in the Bicultural Preparatory School Program with English as a second language. 
  • 499+ points: you may enroll the Bicultural Preparatory School Program with English, French, or German as a second language.

The Prepa UDEM accepts TOEFL scores from any accredited institution, provided that you deliver the proper document validating your score. In Monterrey, the only official location accepted is IMNRC (Instituto Mexicano Norteamericano of Relaciones Culturales) [Mexican - North American Institute of Cultural Relations].

Step 4. Check the Entrance Exam Grade

Remember that must obtain at least 900 points on the Academic Aptitude Test in order to pass.

Step 5. Pay Pre-enrollment and Prepare Schedule

To guarantee your class schedule and financial aid (if you have been awarded a scholarship) you will need to pay your pre-enrollment fee.

If you are enrolling in the USP, please make your payment at the Student Information and Attention Center, located on UDEM Campus. If you are enrolling either in the UVA or in the UFU, please pay the fees at the respective unit.

Pre-enrollment Fee: 3,000.00 pesos.

Once you have made your payment, please go to the unit in which you have enrolled in order to prepare your class schedule.

Step 6. Pay Enrollment

Pay your Tuition and Fees according to one of the following options:

  • By check, credit card, or cash at the Student Information and Attention Center 
  • By internet, by logging on with your account and password to the UDEM Portal 
  • By printing a deposit slip in the UDEM Portal and making your payment at Banamex, Banorte, or Serfín
