Weather
The weather in Monterrey can be considered extreme, and is sometimes unpredictable: very hot during the summer, temperatures may rise up to 40°C for several consecutive days; and very humid or cold during the Winter, with temperatures falling to 0°C, mostly during January.
September, February, and March are considered rainy months.
Places to visit
In a city considered the third most important of Mexico, there are plenty of places to visit.
Some of the most important museums holding permanent and temporary exhibits are the Contemporary Art Museum (MARCO), the Mexican History Museum, Northeast Museaum (MUNE), and the Glass Museum, just to name some.
If you like open door activities, the Estanzuela Park, Chipinque Park, Estrella Bio-park, the Cola de Caballo waterfall and the Huasteca, are some of the places you can visit.
You may also choose the more conventional places, such as shopping malls, movie theaters, musical concerts, restaurants, bars, and galleries.
Transportation
Having a car is not the only mean of transportation. Taxis are very safe, and fairly economic. Other options are the bus or metro services.
If you are living off campus, one of our suggestions is for you to book a space in our Directo UDEM, our specialized bus service that will pick you up near your house and drop you at the university campus.
