Announcement | Fall 2020 Semester starting in a hybrid and staggered format

San Pedro Garza García, May 26, 2020

Dear UDEM Community:

We have come to the end of the semester under completely atypical conditions. We did not expect the health contingency to change our lifestyle and that we would be faced with new paradigms. We acknowledge the incredible effort that all of our students, teachers, and collaborators have made to fulfill their commitments in spite of the changes that we have had to implement in order to confront this situation. I feel deeply thankful to all of you for your understanding and for adapting so nimbly to this new scenario.

We have made an extraordinary effort to work from home and curb the risk of contagion and we will need to continue under this modality for some more time. Therefore, the Fall 2020 semester will begin on September 1, 2020 at the Universidad de Monterrey, in a hybrid and staggered modality, in compliance with instructions from health authorities to resume activities.

This modality combines distance and in-person teaching, therefore permitting the limited and orderly interaction of a percentage of our population to comply with the social distancing protocols in order not to put our UDEM community at risk.

We are fully aware that enjoying our facilities, using the labs and workshops, and fostering interaction among students are important parts of the university experience. We believe we can achieve this through the staggered hybrid format of which we will be giving you more detailed information over the upcoming weeks.

EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

In view of the current health emergency situation and since the wellbeing of our university community is our priority, the Universidad de Monterrey has made the decision to cancel all of its exchange programs for the Fall 2020 term, at the high-school, undergraduate, and graduate levels.
