Upon completion of this course, students will learn the procedures, techniques, and materials for the production of New graphics, such as the mimeograph, photocopier, fax machine, and templates. They will be able to apply these techniques in graphic works.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize the simple shapes into which an object can be decomposed to then create and develop more complex representations through drawings of different objects.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to describe the European influence on the discovery of America in order to explain the changes that modified science, history, the arts, and trade as a result of the encounter of the two continents. This will be done through readings, research, and discussions on different expressions of art.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to analyze the influence of the globalization phenomenon on local or regional cultures and review the main roots on which the western world grew and flourished.

Students will analyze the evolution of photography from its first manifestations up to the present day and its interrelation with other cultural practices.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to analyze the condition of artistic production during the last 20 years of the 20th century from the point of view of the influence of political and social events of that time. They will also identify the relations between these events and the artistic production of peripheral or emerging countries.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to learn procedures, techniques, and materials for the production of artistic engraving with non-toxic media, practicing graphic serial printing, from a plate or matrix to the actual printing.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to have a basic understanding of the history, media, theory, market, and promotion of art, identifying the time when the art work was produced and the techniques with which it was made. The students will also identify mechanisms for the promotion the work of art.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to have an understanding of key topics for an approach to art and its appreciation, which will lead them to obtain an auxiliary perspective to distinguish between a work of art and one that has other features.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to gain an understanding of key topics on contemporary art production, their main manifestations and authors, as well as the current cultural context in which they take place.
