UDEMUN 2023

Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Observers,

On behalf of the UDEM High School, I have the honor of welcoming you to the 24th Edition of the Model United Nations of the University of Monterrey (UDEMUN). My name is Ana Sofía Rodríguez and it is a privilege to serve as General Secretary.

To celebrate this special edition, UDEMUN will focus on the topics of debate under a business vision, since companies play a very important role in public policies, exerting their influence due to their economic power and the capacity they have to generate negotiations that impact social development. Companies tend to participate in the formation of policies to defend their commercial interests, to advocate for social and environmental problems, the cooperation of multinationals ranges from collaborating with governments to solve problems to solving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Within the United Nations Organization, businessmen can commit themselves to the objectives of delegations to find solutions to different world problems from the commercial and social point of view. In the various committees of UDEMUN 2023 Business Edition, the delegates will develop their critical thinking and ability to seek solutions quickly and effectively, seeking an equitable benefit by promoting peace at all times, they will apply leadership practices, creativity, and their humanistic values which are the seal of our institution. 

UDEMUN Business Edition, will take place on Tuesday, November 14 and Wednesday, November 15 of this year. As part of this great simulation, I am pleased to announce that at the end of UDEMUN, each delegate will obtain a digital badge granted by Universidad de Monterrey endorsing their participation. It is worth mentioning that a digital badge is evidence that provides credibility and authenticity to a particular achievement or merit that a person has acquired or demonstrated in a specific area. A digital badge is designed to be verifiable and portable, which means they can be easily shared across online platforms and social media, as well as on resumes and professional profiles, making verification the new trend for workplaces in the future.

The future is the present, UDEMUN 2023 Business Edition is the opportunity for students to develop skills to communicate problems, solve them and seek the good for everyone in the world. The Secretariat is working to let UDEMUN 2023 Business Edition be an experience from which you learn from yourselves and from others, always opening up to new ideas and points of view, inspiring the world to achieve its best version.
