By the end of this course, students will be able to analyze the needs of the product, the properties and transformation processes of materials to develop and select packaging; thus meeting the needs of the client, the manufacturer, and the market and ensuring compliance with international standards and agreements.

By the end of this course, students will understand and identify the different types and classifications of products and goods on the commercial market, knowing and understanding the characteristics and end results that users and consumers expect of each type of product.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply methods for the development of product containers, packaging, and distribution in alignment with the intended selling markets. This will be done while considering the sustainability, regulation and certification aspects which support their success in the market.

Students will learn and research specific topics for the purpose of going deeply into an area of industrial design in order to identify and broaden their options for professional development.

By the end of this course, students will understand the 3D solid parametric modeling tools used in the creation of refined models. In addition, students will assimilate usage criteria for the basic development of a product in order to build a prototype or to mass-produce it.

The aim of this course is for students to be able to learn and apply available technology and resources in order to create products and objects using wood and its derivatives. Students will also become acquainted with the processes to obtain wood derivatives and they will learn the physical and chemical properties of such derivatives. In addition, students will be capable of identifying the physical and chemical properties and conversion processes for wooden materials and natural fibers currently in the market.

Upon completion of this course, students will be capable of assessing bi-dimensional representation digital media for the communication of product design ideas in the different stages of product development. In addition, students will be able to make drawings of products or components for subsequent manufacturing processes.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand the different aspects involved in pre-printing, including the software, elements, inks, layout, and finishes that play a role in the correct configuration of pre-press digital files.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to define and express their own design criteria through group critiques, reports and various applications in order to develop awareness of the importance of design in society.
