IC 3450 Traffic Engineering

By the end of this course, students will be knowledgeable about the concepts of planning, geometric project, and operation of traffic on roads, streets, terminals, and adjacent areas. They will have learned to diagnose the behavior of traffic and will be able to determine its current level of service and provide solutions for its improvement.

IC 3410 Dynamic Analysis of Structures

By the end of this course, students will understand the dynamic effects on the behavior of structures. They will learn to model and analyze structures such as systems with one degree of freedom and several degrees of freedom. Additionally, they will be knowledgeable about the Mexican regulations for seismic design and they will be able to apply them to the analysis and design of buildings.

IC 3400 Design of Structures II

By the end of this course, students will be able to calculate beam deflections. They will also be able to design reinforced concrete beams, prestressed concrete beams, slender columns and biaxial bending columns. Aditionally, they will analyze and dimension concrete structures subjected to live loads, dead loads, earthquakes, and the wind.

IC 3375 Project Evaluation

The aim of this course is for students to apply theoretical knowledge related to Project Evaluation based on financial terms in order to argue decision-making regarding the acceptance or rejection of a construction project in accordance with the studies conducted during project development.

IC 3370 Environmental Engineering Laboratory

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to carry out the experimental measurements of different water quality parameters such as suspended and dissolved solids, pH, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), dissolved oxygen, turbidity, chlorine, etc. They will also be able to interpret the experimental measurements and evaluate the efficiency of a water treatment process.

IC 3350 Construction Machinery

Upon completion of this course, students will understand the functioning of different types of machinery. They will also analyze and plan the operation of this construction equipment for specific work. Additionally, they will carry out economic analyses calculating the costs, schedules, yields, amounts of equipment required, etc.
