Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand the physiological and pathological phenomena of women during their reproductive age, pregnancy, child birth, puerperium, and the end of reproductive life.

This course aims for students to: (1) Analyze the normal course of pregnancy, the anatomical and physiological changes of women in this process, the importance of prenatal care and the complications that can occur during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. (2) Review the clinical course of childbirth, postpartum and breastfeeding, as well as the diseases of women.

The aim of this course is to analyze the ethical principles necessary to make moral judgments in the practice of nursing to solve ethical dilemmas related to life and health and to review the Code of Ethics of Nursing.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand and use the medical, psychological, and social aspects of patients in terminal stage, through a revision of the rights of terminally-ill patients, the ethical problems faced at the end of life as well as the vision of life in different cultures, in order to work collaborative in the palliative care of patients with terminal diagnoses.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to analyze the main elements that make up the management of patients with no healing expectations, by developing palliative care at the three levels of care.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand the ethical and philosophical tenets that will enable them to practice their profession with respect for life and dignity by experiencing values.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize the different pathologies of the systems of the human body, in order to identify the pathological alterations present in each one of the ailments that require medical treatment.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize the human responses of adult patients suffering from ailments that affect their health and welfare. This should allow them to provide nursing care through independent and interdependent actions at the primary and secondary care levels, in collaboration with the health care team.

This course aims to review the normal characteristics of newborn babies, their physical examination, growth graphic, immunization schedule, most common laboratory tests, and the physical and pathological changes of organs and systems, as well as their clinical manifestations and management.
