Our history

The Universidad de Monterrey was founded by the religious congregations of the Daughters of Immaculate Mary of Guadalupe, the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, the Marist Brothers, and the Brothers of La Salle, all of whom were supported by an enthusiastic association of catholic citizens.​

In our founding principles, we capture and express the humanism that emanates from the Catholic church: a culture centered on the humanization of each and every person; an openness to every creed and background that rejects all forms of privilege and discrimination, and the conviction that transcendence is achieved in the service of others.
