Eduardo García Luna

Vice President of Health Sciences

Dr. Eduardo García Luna Martínez studied Humanities and Social Sciences at the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO). Subsequently, he pursued the undergraduate degree in Medicine, Surgery, and Midwifery at the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), a master’s degree in Health Systems Management and Planning from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in Organizational Development from the Universidad de Monterrey, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Throughout time, he has taken various courses in education and the management of higher education institutions at organizations like Harvard University, UDEM, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); in Strategic Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Finance at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

Professionally, he has developed as an educator and has published numerous articles. He has held positions such as Dean of the undergraduate degree program in Medicine, Surgery, and Midwifery at UDEM. Also at UDEM, he has served as Chairman of Planning and Finance and Dean of the Division of Health Sciences. He is currently the Vice President of Health Sciences at the same institution.

He served as Director of Clínica y Maternidad Conchita in Monterrey, and he has performed relevant roles as an advisor and consultant with various government, academia, and hospital bodies. He was chairman of the Monterrey Hospital clusters and the Biotechnology cluster in the state of Nuevo León.

He currently acts as Vice Chair of the Consejo Mexicano para la Acreditación de la Educación Médica (COMAEM – Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education).
