Nery Gracia Ledezma

Director of Communication and Marketing

Nery graduated from the Universidad de Monterrey with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies. She also holds the Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University.

She has work experience in international affairs, in the areas of migration and lobbying. Additionally, she has experience researching the development of public policies in the think tank Center for Worklife Policy, the ALAS Foundation, and The Earth Institute at Columbia University in New York City. As for other projects, she has collaborated as a consultant in corporate social responsibility at PepsiCo Latin America and in the operations of companies based in Austin, Texas. 

She joined UDEM in 2012, as head of the Board’s Office and President’s Office. Since 2016, she has been responsible for institutional communications. Her mission is to guarantee that UDEM’s communications and marketing are correctly articulated and oriented to the university’s strategic planning.

Furthermore, she leads the work team in charge of strengthening the university’s image and reputation with the design, financial planning, and execution of strategies that combine different aspects of marketing (events, digital communication, and public relations, among others). The team’s duties include designing, managing, and measuring the annual communication and marketing plan, and implementing advertising campaigns. Nery is also in charge of the editorial management of the UDEM 360 journal and the executive and creative management of UDEM Commencements. Likewise, she promotes mobility efforts through the UDEM Comprehensive Mobility Plan, formulated in 2017.   

Her studies include innovation, design thinking, digital marketing, gender equality policies, and management. 

At present, she is also a professor with the School of Law and Social Sciences. She has been a volunteer tutor at Safe Place, MexicArte in Austin, Texas, ProMujer in Nueva York, and the Polytechnic Preparatory School and the Universidad de Barrios in Santa Catarina. She is part of the Board in organizations such as Invest MTY, Nuevo León: Cómo Vamos (Nuevo León: How are we doing?) and the Subcommittee for the Promotion of the State of Nuevo León.

Her hobbies are yoga, reading, and the cinema.
