This course provides students with basic cognitive elements for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of tooth decay. The aim of this course is for students to: (1) Acquire abilities and skills for tissue cutting, restoration design, and the handling of various materials commonly used in operative dentistry clinics. (2) Endeavor to achieve effectiveness, efficiency, and pertinence, not only by using the latest scientific and technological advances, but also by providing for their comprehensive training and education. To this end, theory and practice are linked through reflective reasoning on their own rational criterion for the construction of their own learning, which will be achieved through active participation in the classroom and the scheduled activities of the Operative Dentistry Techniques course.
