Students will be able to have more fluent conversations about daily topics such as shopping, ordering at a restaurant, booking a hotel, taking a taxi, asking for directions, etc.  For this purpose, the basic Chinese verb tenses will be used (present, past and future).  Students will continue to learn about important aspects of Chinese culture (for example, interesting places to visit in China).  They will finish the course with an active vocabulary of 750 characters, applied to all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing).
