EM 3007 Pediatric Nursing

This course aims to analyze the growth and development of children, risk factors during the different stages of childhood and basic principles of pediatric care. It will also analyze the pediatric unit, emotional status of hospitalized children, nursing-specific procedures, dose and micro dose in chemical administration, process of care in pediatric nursing to adapt and systematize care and address the humanitarian responses to the needs of children.

EM 3004 Nursing and the Care of Surgical and Critically-ill Patients

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize human responses in the face of ailments that require surgical and critical care treatment, which will enable them to provide specific nursing care and intervention through independent and interdependent nursing actions at the second and third levels of care, in collaboration with the health team.

EM 3003 Nursing Theories

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to link nursing theories to their education, training, practice, and research through a revision and critical analysis of scientific literature, consolidating the theoretical foundations of their nursing thinking in the different areas of the development of their discipline.

EM 3000 Obstetrics and Gynecology

This course aims for students to: (1) Analyze the normal course of pregnancy, the anatomical and physiological changes of women in this process, the importance of prenatal care and the complications that can occur during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. (2) Review the clinical course of childbirth, postpartum and breastfeeding, as well as the diseases of women.

EM 2092 Thanatology

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand and use the medical, psychological, and social aspects of patients in terminal stage, through a revision of the rights of terminally-ill patients, the ethical problems faced at the end of life as well as the vision of life in different cultures, in order to work collaborative in the palliative care of patients with terminal diagnoses.
