About Philaentropy
Philaentropy is an endeavor to summon each individual in the UDEM community: students, faculty members, parents, alumni, and collaborators. All come together to celebrate the joy of sharing, serving others, transcending, and being part of an infinite chain of generosity.
Our advances
Thanks to the generosity of UDEM students, parents, collaborators, faculty, graduates, board members, and also to that of foundations, civil society organizations, people, and companies who are friends of UDEM, the Transcending brings us together campaign has brought about a change in the lives of hundreds of young people, in the history of the Universidad de Monterrey, and in the community in general.
This has allowed us to achieve 59% progress on our final goal.
Philaentropy
Thanks to benefactor scholarship program, we have awarded scholarships to 346 high school and university students (from the preparatory school, polytechnic preparatory school, undergraduate and graduate university levels). This has led us to achieve 76% percent of our goal to offer more education opportunities to outstanding young people with a spirit of service.
35 new funds have been opened. Some of the most noteworthy are Atidí, ReconoceR, Linde Scholars, Alfa Fundación, and Form to Transform, to name just a few.
For its part, the Form to Transform program has benefited 33 students and has enabled the development of 20 social projects, having an impact on the lives of more than 10,000 indirect beneficiaries from various communities.
Thanks to the first institutional endowment*, 13 endowment scholarship funds have been created.
*Endowment: an investment fund made up from donations and whose yield is used for various projects.
We wish to continue changing the lives of vulnerable young people and help them to have a promising future.
In 2017, the UDEM Polytechnic Preparatory School model allowed 900 young people to have an opportunity to study high school.
This unique preparatory school model has helped 86% of its students to complete their high school education. 96% of these graduates are now studying and/or working.
The opening of the new Poniente Unit of the Santa Catarina Polytechnic Preparatory School took place in August 2017.
To date, the university has two units of the Polytechnic Preparatory School, both located in the municipality of Santa Catarina.
Today, thanks to the generosity of each benefactor, the progress of UDEM’s Polytechnic Preparatory Schools stands at 51%.
Our vision is also aimed at the development of a sustainable environment for the future generations.
The West-side Building project will help us create a space for interaction that respects the environment.
Currently, construction progress stands at 55%*, from which 22,439 m2 (241,531 ft2) will be green areas.
