Return to classes | Representative teams

San Pedro Garza García, July 24, 2020

Dear athletes in our representative teams:

We hope you and your loved ones are well. We would like to inform you how we are going to work during the Fall 2020 semester, in light of the Covid-19 contingency.

Protecting the health and wellbeing of our students, coaches, and collaborators is a priority to the Universidad de Monterrey. Therefore, in compliance with the recommendations from the health authorities, we inform you of the following:

1. Regarding sessions of the representative teams

1.1 Due to the current contingency, we will avoid all physical contact activities with teammates and sporting materials during the Fall 2020 semester. Training and physical work will be done individually online.

1.2 Each coach will provide his/her team with a training plan and he/she will call virtual meetings and set homework through Google Classroom, Blackboard, or Canvas.

1.3. Based on a rubric, the coach will explain the assessment criteria to monitor each athlete’s sporting and formative performance.

1.4. Since the semester will be held online in its entirety, sporting scholarships will be assessed in accordance with the rubric mentioned in point 1.3.

2. Regarding competitions

2.1. The suspension of UDEM teams’ participation in the Fall 2020 competitions (CONADEIP, Liga ABE, CONDDE, and FEMEXFUT) will continue as part of UDEM’s strategy to protect its athletes, coaches, and collaborators.

3. Regarding UDEM’s sporting facilities and recreative activity

3.1. The gym, sports fields and courts, dressing rooms and showers will remain closed until health and sanitation authorities inform us that the risk of contagion has been contained and that it is safe to open the facilities.

3.2. The 5K race and Fall 2020 intramural tournaments are suspended for the Fall 2020 semester.

A meeting will be scheduled with each team in the upcoming weeks to clarify any queries and comments.

Additionally, we invite you to keep up to date at udem.edu.mx/Coronavirus and follow the recommendations to protect your health and  the health of those around you.

Sincerely,
Ángel Verde
