OD 4020 Oral Surgery II
The aim of this course is for students to acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills to be able to reach a good diagnosis for the surgical treatment of oral and dental diseases.

This course aim is for students to: (1) Understand the health function of the stomatologic system and its parts, so that its equilibrium and correct function can be maintained. (2) Apply acquired knowledge to prevent and/or correct alterations of the preserve the Stomatognathic System, proposing prevention and/or therapeutic management mechanisms as appropriate. (3) Apply theory directly with patients in a dental clinic.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply acquired knowledge to perform rehabilitation with fixed and removable partial proshteses. They should distinguish the different branches of prosthetics and their relation with various branches of Dentistry. They will also be able to classify the different techniques and preparations of fixed dental prostheses, analyzing the components of a fixed dental prosthesis and a removable dental prosthesis, using different printing techniques and materials.
The aim of this course is to study, analyze, and comprehend the large number of ailments and physiopathological processes that affect the teeth, soft tissue, and adjunct tissues.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to prevent, diagnose, and treat mouth conditions that affect the disabled population and population who fail to meet the criteria to be classified as conventional-care patients.

Upon completion of this course, students will have developed the basic skills required to carve cavities and restore the dental organ to its biological balance when its structural, functional, or aesthetic integrity has been altered or compromised in a patient.
