CC 3136 Nephrology

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to diagnose and treat the most common nephrologic clinical conditions and demonstrate a professional and ethical position in the practice of medicine by defining the criteria for referral and counter-referral of patients requiring support from a nephrology specialist. This will be achieved through outpatient practice , supported by problematized clinical case discussions led by the professor.

CC 3129 Endocrinology

At the conclusion of this course, students will integrate efficient diagnoses of and treatments for the most common endocrine disorders, taking into consideration the social reality of their practice. They will also be able to make informed decisions for the prompt referral of patients who requires care from an endocrinology specialist.

CC 3126 Neurology

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to comprehensively address clinical problems that concern clinical neurology to diagnose and treat them in a timely and appropriate manner, and define counter-referral criteria that need the support of a neurologist. This will be achieved through readings, research, participation in specialized seminars and practical case studies and out-patient and in-patient consultation practices.

CC 2014 General Pathology II

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to explain the origin and meaning of the signs and symptoms that make up the most common syndromes and diseases in order to develop a more structured and systematic symptomatology and examination that allow them to integrate more efficient etiologic, nosologic, and functional diagnoses. All of this will be achieved through the attendance of lectures, participation in seminars on problematized clinical cases, additional research and practices in the Simulation and Virtual Medical Education laboratory.

CC 2021 Radiology and Imaging

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to interpret diagnostic images of the different test methods based on their knowledge of the physical principles and guidelines of each of these imaging modalities through clinical sessions and learning activities in order to correlate clinical findings with imaging findings.

CC 2035 Bioethics

At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to form a critical judgment that allows them to solve the ethical dilemmas in the practice of medicine in order to best support patient and family decision-making during their disease process and in treatments with ethical and moral implications.

CC 2105 Research Design

 

This course aims to promote the development of competences for the selection and management of ramdom clinical trials, groups, cases and controls; the specific methodologic characteristics for the development of each one, and their potential in the generation of knowledge (scientific evidences).  The investigation procotol is reviewed to start research development.

CC 3015 Growth and Development

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to take an active, effective role in the care of the growth and development of children and adolescents. They will behave ethically and professionally to protect the health of patients in these age groups and refer them promptly to a specialist in case of abnormal situations beyond their professional competence. Course aims will be achieved through bibliographic research, discussions with problematized clinical cases, group sharing experiences, collaborative work, outpatient consultation practices and duty shifts.

CC 3016 Basic Clinical Integration I

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to organize and reflect on their knowledge of the Basic Sciences to link it with the study of the Clinical Sciences included in their medical degree program in order to attain a competent performance in solving clinical cases of the most common first-contact care diseases and to pass national and international graduate medical specialty tests. Course aims will be achieved through readings, discussions, research, and a clinical reasoning approach to the management of clinical cases.
