HU 3414 Sociological Research Seminar: Ethnographic Methods
Students will develop the ability to plan and structure research through the use of different qualitative techniques.
Students will develop the ability to plan and structure research through the use of different qualitative techniques.
Students will become acquainted with some of the theoretical foundations, methodologies, and instruments of qualitative research and they will create narrative records of the studied phenomena through techniques such as observation, interviews, and focus groups.
Upon conclusion of this course, student will understand and apply the main operations and uses of statistics through the utilizaiton of the SPSS statistical program.
This course aims to provide students with introductory knowledge regarding quantitative social research methodology, in order to acquire basic notions of the different theories and techniques applied in social research.
This course will present the main elements of an organization so that the students can have a theoretical framework of reference that allows them to understand and interpret the behavior of the organizations in which they are involved or of which they will be a part in the future.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to develop an information system focused on packaging and promotion, covering product lines and organization of systems, as well as the norms and restrictions on the use of environmental graphic design in order to respond to current brand communication needs.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to use branding design processes applied to packaging and to promotional spaces through the design of display, points of sale, shop-windows, stands, and to the application of the design of various spaces in order to expand the creative and strategic role of packaging design in the environment, either internal or external, commercial, cultural and/or social.
Upon completion of this course, students will apply acquired knowledge related to packaging design using formal structures and various materials creatively as well as existing ecological and biodegradable options in order to design creative products suited to current needs and possibilities.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to graphically generate information design contents related to texts, books, the web, presentations, and graphics, as well as to properly use 2-D information systems. This will be achieved through a course that links theory with the implementation of the knowledge acquired analyzing it and discussing it as a group.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to do professional studio photo shoots of various 3-D objects in order to generate the photographic material of the projects which will be carried out throughout their career to be integrated into their portfolios.
