Who is this addressed to?
National and international candidates who wish to start the first semester of any of the undergraduate degree programs of the Vice Presidency of Art, Architecture, and Design (VIAAD):
- Animation and Digital Effects
- Art
- Architecture
- Graphic Design
- Industrial Design
- Interior Design
- Textile and Fashion Design
- Sustainable Innovation and Energy Engineering
These candidates must also make a commitment to devoting themselves full-time to develop and enhance their creative talent in the above-mentioned areas.
What do you need to apply?

Obtaining the minimum required score in the institutional admission exam, College Board or PAA corresponding to each program (for foreign students we accept proof of results from other institutions, for both the PAA and the SAT).

Being accepted for admission into one of VIAAD’s undergraduate degree programs. For information on this process, you must contact the Office for New Students, located at Estoa, level A, or, by calling +52 81-8215-1010, or e-mailing at [email protected].

Once the above points have been fulfilled, the candidate must e-mail the following in electronic format to [email protected] before 12:00 p.m. of March 17, 2020:

A portfolio of academic and/or professional works that demonstrate your potential in the chosen discipline.

A maximum of 20 sheets in PDF format.

Each work presented must include its technical fact sheet (specifying measures, dates, technique utilized, if it was carried out with advisory or by own initiative, and other data that you may deem pertinent).

All works included in the portfolio must be authored by the candidate. Should any plagiarism be discovered, we will proceed to disqualify the candidate.

The portfolio must be anonymous. Therefore, the candidate’s name must not be included in any part of the portfolio (we will have all the necessary information in a separate document). During the selection process, the Organizing Committee will be in charge of sending all the documents to the Selection Committee, without any personal information that may identify the candidate so that selection is completely anonymous.

The portfolios may be used, with prior permission from the authors. To promote the scholarship in subsequent editions.

Free-format résumé (a maximum of two sheets in PDF format).

A letter of intent addressed to the “2020 Scholarship to Creative Talent Selection Committee,” expressing your interest, vocation, and the reason why you want to obtain the scholarship (a maximum of 2 sheets in PDF format).

Two letters of academic recommendation. The letters must include the relationship existing between the recommender and the recommended candidate, how long the recommender has known the recommended applicant, and the name of the institution to which the recommender belongs. The letter may be scanned or in electronic format, both in PDF.

A document with full personal details: name, date of birth, address, e-mail address, and contact telephone number.

These five documents must be delivered in a single folder or e-mail, and they can be sent via WeTransfer, Google Drive or as e-mail attachments to [email protected].
Selection process and decision
The Selection Committee will evaluate the files received and they will announce the preselection result on April 20, 2020 through an official announcement to the e-mail address provided by the participant.
Subsequently, the Vocational Guidance examinations and the pertinent interviews will be conducted with the preselected applicants (through May 4, 2020).
On May 8, 2020, the decision will be announced and disseminated through the media assigned by UDEM for this purpose. At the same time, the scholarship-winning candidates will be contacted individually.
Any omission to this document will be solved by the Selection Committee.
The Selection Committee will be made up by important personalities who will remain anonymous.
The selection decision will be unappealable.

Scholarship coverage and conditions
- Registration fees and tuition fees throughout your undergraduate degree program.
- Seguro patrimonial.
- Medical insurance.
- Personalized place in the High-Performance area of the CRGS.
- If you do not have a high command of the Spanish language, the first year of your program you will receive support with Spanish language courses taught through Executive and Continuing Education.
- Keep a grade point average of 90 or higher.
- Pass all your courses.
- Provide proof of attendance to 100 % of academic activities organized by the VIAAD.
- Meet the number of credits corresponding to progress into curriculum, carrying a full course load, in accordance with your program.
- Maintain excellent standing and conduct, complying with institutional and CRGS-specific regulations.
- Present at least one of your projects on a per-semester basis, at a cultural space approved by your program director.
- Update your portfolio on a yearly basis.
- If applicable, pass Spanish course satisfactorily.
