Upon completion of this course, students will be able to have a basic understanding of the history, media, theory, market, and promotion of art, identifying the time when the art work was produced and the techniques with which it was made. The students will also identify mechanisms for the promotion the work of art.

At the end of the course the student will be able to analyze the concepts of ideology and image from different theoretical approaches in order to study the relationships between ideological activity and artistic practice.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to have an understanding of key topics for an approach to art and its appreciation, which will lead them to obtain an auxiliary perspective to distinguish between a work of art and one that has other features.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to gain an understanding of key topics on contemporary art production, their main manifestations and authors, as well as the current cultural context in which they take place.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to gain an understanding of topics that have been relevant to the history of art and that have been significant for having set trends or being representative of their time. The students will become acquainted with the most outstanding aspects of these topics, which will provide a way to assess their importance and contributions to art.

Determine their capacity in the professional exercise, in order to comprehend simulations of situations that they are facing in their professional life, establishing their responsibility, as well as their methodology capacity of inquiry, process and utilization of information, approach to problems, designing solutions and applying the appropriate techniques in each case.

Upon completion of this course, students will be acquainted with descriptive research methodology through the use of qualitative tools applied to the analysis and design of buildings as well as urban spaces for the purpose of understanding the importance of preparing the architectural schedule, simulation models, analyses of existing similar studies, as well as the architectural design concept document.
