Mario Páez González

President

He is a graduate of the undergraduate Public Accounting program at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from the same institution. He pursued an MBA at Tulane university and completed the Senior Management program at IPADE. 

He has a 45-year career with Alfa, where he has held various positions, such as CEO of Empaques de Cartón Titán, CEO of Total Home (Home Depot), and CFO of Alfa. 

In 1997, he joined Grupo Sigma Alimentos, where he was appointed CEO in 2002. During his tenure as the company’s CEO, he has managed to increase sales sixfold and lead the company’s expansion to 18 countries of North America, Central America, South America, and Europe, with a workforce of more than 45,000 people. Furthermore, various human development programs have been implemented, such as the Universidad Sigma and the Sigma-Anspac program, which have more than 6,700 students and 600 trainers and educators. 

His other responsibilities include participating as a Board Member with several Mexican companies. 

He has sponsored various social causes, notably as president of the Jesús M. Montemayor Foundation, one of the main philanthropic organizations in Nuevo León, which supports education-related initiatives and Charity institutions. Since 2008, he has been a member of the Economic Council of the Archdiocese of Monterrey and presided over the Diocesan Tithing Committee. 

He has been married to Mrs. Nidia Villarreal since 1975. They have two children and four grandchildren.​

Ingresó a Grupo Alfa en 1974.  Durante sus 45 años dentro de esta empresa, se desempeñó como Director General de Empaques de Cartón Titán, Director General de Total Home (Home Depot) y Director de Finanzas de Alfa.
 
Fungió como Presidente y Director General de Sigma Alimentos, empresa líder en la industria de comida refrigerada a nivel mundial, subsidiaria de Alfa. Durante su cargo como Director General, desde el 2002, la compañía creció 6 veces su tamaño y se expandió a 18 países con una fuerza laboral de más de 45,000 personas.
 
Fue Presidente del Consejo Mexicano de la Industria de Productos de Consumo, A.C. (ConMéxico) y Vicepresidente del Consejo Mexicano de la Carne.
 
Actualmente es miembro del consejo de administración de varias empresas en México. 
 
Es miembro del Patronato de la Fundación de Beneficencia Jesús M. Montemayor desde el 2012 y fungió como Presidente de esta organización del 2015 al 2017. Desde el 2008 pertenece al Consejo Económico de la Arquidiócesis de Monterrey y, además, preside el Comité del Diezmo Diocesano.
 
Mario Páez es egresado de la carrera de Contaduría Pública en el Tecnológico de Monterrey, donde también obtuvo una Maestría en Administración de Empresas. Realizó un MBA en la Universidad de Tulane y cursó el programa de Alta Dirección de Empresas en el IPADE.
 
Está casado con la Sra. Nidia Villarreal, tienen 2 hijos y 4 nietos.
